Public Hearing: Attendee Identifies Issue for PUC to Address Regarding VGS Proposed Rate Adjustment

On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, the Vermont Public Utility Commission held a public hearing at South Burlington High School in South Burlington for the purpose of hearing public comments on Case #18-0409-TF. One citizen attended and asked the PUC to address the rate-of-return resulting from the Vermont Gas Systems, Inc. tariff filing; in it, VGS seeks a change in rates and use of the System Expansion and Reliability Fund (SERF). Read the transcript of the public hearing here and in ePUC.

The Vermont Gas System proposal would result in an overall 3.8 percent rate reduction, beginning in November 2018, for firm natural gas customers. This decrease represents a 14.8 percent decline in natural gas costs and a 4 percent increase in the daily access and distribution charges.
