Public Utility Commission Adopts Emergency Rule 2.600

On October 16, 2020, the moratorium on gas, electric, and basic telephone disconnections will be lifted in order to encourage greater participation in the Vermont COVID-19 Arrearage Assistance Program that distributes federal funds.  This emergency rule amends various procedural requirements to reduce or eliminate in-person contact between members of the public and utility staff to reduce the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.  This rule also provides enhanced consumer protections to customers who may be experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19. Memos accompanying the rule can be accessed by clicking here.
