On October 16, 2020, the moratorium on gas, electric, and basic telephone disconnections will be lifted in order to encourage greater participation in the Vermont COVID-19 Arrearage Assistance Program that distributes federal funds. This emergency rule amends various procedural requirements to reduce or eliminate in-person contact between members of the public and utility staff to reduce the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
