The above-captioned cases each involve a registration or application for the installation and operation of a solar net-metering system in Hyde Park, Vermont. In each case, the Village of Hyde Park Electric Department (“Hyde Park Electric”) has filed an objection letter claiming that each additional kW of generation added to its distribution system poses a potential risk to system stability, reliability, and safety. These cases have been stayed while the registrants, Hyde Park Electric, and the Vermont Department of Public Service have engaged in discussions and negotiations.
On July 26, 2024, Hyde Park Electric filed a status update with the Vermont Public Utility Commission (“Commission”). Hyde Park Electric requested that Commission staff conduct a status conference to “raise awareness of the current status of the Case to the Public Utility Commission and possibly provide some guidance to the parties on forward movement.” Hyde Park Electric’s request for a status conference is granted.
